O PPG-PV tem investido no processo de internacionalização desde a sua criação, mesmo antes da aprovação do Doutorado.

Atualmente o programa possui diversos convênios internacionais com projetos financiados pelo CNPq e CAPES. Dentre os quais destacamos o convênio com a University of Amsterdam, The Netherland, que foi inicialmente financiado pelo projeto CAPES/NUFFIC - UFV/UvA/UFT - Cooperação Internacional aprovado na Chamada DRI/CGCI (CAPES/NUFFIC) nº 006/2009. Diversos alunos do programa já concluíram suas dissertações e teses no âmbito deste convênio. Atualmente o Prof. Dr. Arne Janssen da University of Amsterdam é o representante daquela universidade junto ao programa e realiza anualmente missões de docência e pesquisa junto ao PPG-PV. Visite. 

Outro importante convênio internacional que o programa possui foi iniciado em 2013 com a Universidade de Aveiro, Portugal, e foi inicialmente financiado por dois projetos aprovados nas Chamadas - PVE-CAPES- MEC/MCTI/CAPES/CNPq/FAPs Nº 71/2013 e Nº 09/2014. Diversos alunos do PPG-PV já realizaram o doutorado sanduíche na Universidade de Aveiro e Alunos desta universidade realizaram o doutorado sanduíche junto ao PPG-PV, tendo suas teses realizadas sob a co-orientação de professores da Universidade de Aveiro e do PPG-PV, respectivamente. O representante da Universidade de Aveiro junto ao PPG-PV é o professor catedrático Amadeu M.V.M. Soares, que também é docente permanente junto ao PPG-PV. Visite

O Programa de Pós-Graduação visa ainda reforçar uma nova colaboração institucional com a Faculdade de Ciências da Universidade de Lisboa, através de uma colaboração activa com Carlos Gravato (Professor Auxiliar do Departamento de Biologia Animal e chefe de equipa do grupo HuEL - Humanos e Meio Ambiente) mostrado com a publicação de vários artigos nos últimos anos. Além disso, Carlos Gravato vai acolher e co-orientar alunos da Pós-Graduação do Programa em Portugal. O intercâmbio de competências técnicas Brasil / Portugal se dará por meio da organização de Cursos Avançados no Brasil com o objetivo de desenvolver o uso de ferramentas bioquímicas e moleculares por pesquisadores brasileiros. Recentemente, o PPG-PV aprovou um projeto no Edital Programa Nacional de Cooperação Acadêmica na Amazônia n. 21/2018. Este projeto encontra-se em vigência e dentre as diversas ações de intercâmbio científico prevista no projeto, destacamos as bolsas de doutorado sanduíche no exterior e professor visitante no exterior. Ao longo dos próximos 05 anos o programa diversos alunos e professores do PPG-PV irão realizar intercâmbio científico em instituições internacionais com bolsas financiadas pelo respectivo projeto.

No primeiro ano de execução do projeto a estudante de Doutorado do PPG em Produção Vegetal da UFT, Poliana Silvestre Pereira, iniciou no dia 16 de setembro de 2019, o período “sanduíche” do seu Doutorado junto ao Departamento de Entomologia do Instituto de Agricultura e Recursos Naturais da University of Nebraska - Lincoln-USA, onde permaneceu por um período de 1 ano. A University of Nebraska em Lincoln-USA é uma instituição educacional de estrutura internacional e abrange nove faculdades. O Departamento de Entomologia do Instituto de Agricultura e Recursos Naturais possui vários laboratórios, dentre eles o laboratório Entomologia de Agroecossistemas, que é coordenado pela professora Dra. Julie A. Peterson. Neste laboratório, são realizadas pesquisas que abordam a ecologia e o manejo de pragas agrícolas, com ênfase em aplicações práticas para o manejo integrado de pragas em lavouras comerciais. No período em que permaneceu nos Estados Unidos, Poliana desenvolveu trabalhos relacionados à distribuição sazonal e geográfica de pragas mediante às mudanças climáticas. O desenvolvimento deste trabalho inclui modelagem, que é uma técnica capaz de indicar os locais de ocorrência de pragas, gerando mapas de distribuição sob diferentes cenários como o das mudanças climáticas. Além da Poliana, temos a previsão de outros alunos de Doutorado do programa ingressarem em intercâmbios internacionais nos próximos anos, não somente para os Estados Unidos, mas também em países da Europa e Oceania, os quais já têm convênios firmados por meio do Projeto PROCAD AMAZÔNIA (University of Adelaide através do pesquisador Dr. Katja Hogendoorn, DOKKYO MEDICAL UNIVERSITY, Department of Tropical Medicine and Parasitology, através do pesquisador Dr. Marcello Otake Sato, UNIVERSITY OF MINNESOTA, através do pesquisador Dr. Robert Koch, etc).

Com a experiência internacional adensada na pós-graduação e consequente produção de conhecimento e de formação de recursos humanos de nível internacional, almejamos ingressar em um padrão onde as fronteiras inexistem, prevalecendo somente a excelência acadêmica. Assim, espera-se como resultado do incremento das iniciativas propostas, consolidar a mobilidade internacional docente e discente nas duas direções, contribuindo de forma decisiva e positiva para a consolidação de um ambiente acadêmico internacional e consequentemente para a qualidade do nosso programa e excelência de recursos humanos formados.

The Program has invested in the internationalization process since its creation, even before the approval of the Doctorate.

Currently, the Program has several international umbrella agreements with projects supported by CNPq and CAPES. Among which we highlight the umbrela agreement with the University of Amsterdam, The Netherland, which was initially funded by the CAPES / NUFFIC - UFV / UvA / UFT - International Cooperation project approved in the Call DRI / CGCI (CAPES / NUFFIC) No. 006/2009. Another important international umbrela agreement of the Programme has started in 2013 with the University of Aveiro, Portugal, and was initially supported by two projects approved in the Calls - PVE-CAPES- MEC / MCTI / CAPES / CNPq / FAPs No. 71/2013 and No. 09/2014. Several students from the Programme have already completed their PhD sandwich at the University of Aveiro and students from the University of Aveiro have completed their PhD sandwich at the Programme, having their theses carried out under the co-supervision of professors from the University of Aveiro and Programme, respectively. The representative of the University of Aveiro at the PPG-PV is the full professor Amadeu M.V.M. Soares, who subsequent became a special permanent professor at the Programme. Visite

The Post-Graduation Program also aims to strengthen a new institutional collaboration with the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon, through an active collaboration with Carlos Gravato (Assistant Professor of the Department of Animal Biology and team leader of the group HuEL – Humans and Environment) shown with publication of several articles in recent years. Moreover, Carlos Gravato will host and co-supervise Post-Graduation students form the Program in Portugal. The exchange of technical skills between Brazil/Portugal will be achieve through the organization of Advanced Courses in Brazil aiming to develop the use of biochemical and molecular tools by Brazilian researchers. Recently, the Program approved a project in the National Program for Academic Cooperation in the Amazon n. 21/2018. This project is in force and among the several scientific exchange actions expected for this project, we highlight the sandwich doctorate scholarships abroad and visiting professor abroad. Over the next 05 years, several students and professors of the Program will carry out scientific exchange in international institutions with scholarships financed by this project.

In the first year of execution of the project PROCAD AMAZÔNIA, the PhD student Poliana Silvestre Pereira, started on September 16, 2019, her PhD sandwich period at the Department of Entomology of the Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources, University of Nebraska - Lincoln-USA, where she stayed for a period of 1 year. The University of Nebraska in Lincoln-USA is an educational institution with an international structure and covers nine colleges. The Entomology Department of the Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources has several laboratories, including the Entomology of Agroecosystems laboratory, which is coordinated by Professor Dra. Julie A. Peterson. In this laboratory, research is carried out that addresses the ecology and management of agricultural pests, with an emphasis on practical applications for integrated pest management in commercial crops. While in the United States, Poliana developed works related to the seasonal and geographical distribution of pests due to climate change. The development of this work includes modeling, which is a technique capable of indicating the places of occurrence of pests, generating distribution maps under different scenarios such as climate change. In addition to Poliana, we expect other PhD students to join international exchanges in the coming years, not only to the United States, but also to countries in Europe and Oceania, which we already have agreements signed through the PROCAD AMAZÔNIA Project. With the international experience deepened in graduate studies and the consequent production of knowledge and training of human resources at an international level, we aim to enter a standard where borders do not exist, with only academic excellence prevailing. Thus, it is expected as a result of the increase in the proposed initiatives, to consolidate international teaching and student mobility in both directions, contributing decisively and positively to the consolidation of an international academic environment and consequently to the quality of our program and the excellence of resources trained humans.
