Course offer Scheme

The Master’s degree and the Ph.D. will have a minimum duration of 1 (one) and 2 (two) years and maximum of 2 (two) and 4 (four) years, respectively, counted from the registration initial date. Will be computed, to the maximum duration calculus, the periods that the student, for whatever reason, turn away from the University, except in cases motivated by health problems, in the terms of the current legislation.

Exceptionally, may be granted the deadline extension by recommendation of the advisor and with the program’s collegiate approbation, observing the following requirements:

a) If solicited by the student that has completed all the Program’s requirements, except by the dissertation or thesis defense.

b) If the request formulated by the student, properly justified, come together with the following receipts: the approbation document of the qualification exam andresearch project (in the Ph.D.) Advisor’s recommendation document, which should have registered the research status of development and a perception of the student effort to complete de paper at the expected date in the extension request, and the approbation document from the Program’s Coordinator or collegiate.

c) The grant and attribution of the maximum prorogation deadline are competence of the collegiate of the program.

To obtain the title and the expedition of the master’s degree and Ph.D. diploma, the student must meet the established requirements in the internal regiment. The master’s degree students must present, when prompted defense, a subject article, that will be worth in 6 (six) credits related to another academic activities. The Ph.D. students must present, when prompted defense, 2 (two) articles, one of them accepted or published and the other one subjected, that will be worth in 6 (six) credits related to another academic activities.

The articles to be presented, when prompted defense, both master’s degree and Ph.D., must be related to their master’s degree or Ph.D. researches, consisting the student as first author e the advisor as one of the co-authors, and subjected to Qualis Capes B3, B2, B1, A2 or A1 periodicals.
