The Masters and Ph.D. Environment Science Program (PPGCiamb) has as main goal to create human resources, generate and propagate knowledge about the environmental thematic and its interfaces, with a social and environmental perspective, encouraging the dialogue between the most various fields of knowledge. To create, develop, strengthen and propagate extension and education research activities, by means of an integrated and multidisciplinary approach in the field of Environment Sciences, focusing on the local and regional problems of the Legal Amazon.

The Program proposes, specifically:

1. Qualifying professionals with different formations, at a master’s degree, to work with education, extension or research in the Environmental Science related fields, enhancing the dialogue between the most various fields of knowledge.
2. Give encouragement to develop researches that describe the environment (its components and inter-relations), its uses and innovative alternatives, founded on the multi and interdisciplinarity.
3. Contribute with the improvement of knowledge production in the fields of Environmental Sciences.
4. Contribute with environmental issues solutionspecifically related to sociocultural aspects and to the development and conservation of the biodiversity, focusing on the Legal Amazon.
5. Contribute with the improvement of education at different levels from their teacher’s qualification. The program efforts aim on the students with different formations insertion and experiences in studies about environment related problematics e its interfaces, looking for solutions aimed at natural patrimony conservation and development with an environmental perspective.
